Abstract

We propose a low-complexity experimental model that predicts the OSNR of submarine links, considering both EDFA homogeneous and inhomogeneous responses. We tested it with random input pre-emphases, obtaining a mean RMSE of 0.29 dB after 24 spans when trained with simple single-span datasets.
