Abstract

We propose and experimentally demonstrate passive optical network based on mode-division-multiplexing. Two individual linearly polarized (LP) modes are successfully transmitted over 1.8-km low-modal-crosstalk few-mode optical fiber and demultiplexed with error-free performance.
