An SDN-based Integration of Green TWDM-PONs and Metro Networks Preserving End-to-End Delay

Abstract

A novel latency-aware aggregation node architecture supporting TWDM-PONs is successfully demonstrated. The node, performing traffic scheduling according to sleep-mode operations, includes a lightweight SDN solution, scaled to operate as intra-node controller.
