Abstract

We demonstrate sustained real-time phase-recording distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) in 148 km standard SMF28e and 171 km low-loss OFS TeraWave SCUBA 125 fibers without inline amplification. Low noise and high optical dynamic range are obtained by combining swept frequency interrogation and a very low phase noise laser.
