Optical Fiber Sensing Network Control Plane Enabled by a Novel Sub µs Response Time Fiber Sensing Control Device

Abstract

We propose and implement a novel fiber sensing control device and sensing control plane that controls backscatter and polarization-based fiber sensing. We experimentally demonstrate in a fiber network that this device achieves sub-µs response time.
