Forward-transmission based distributed fiber sensing compatible with C+L unidirectional communication systems

Abstract

We propose forward-transmission based distributed fiber sensing that is compatible with C+L unidirectional communication systems and relaxes the requirement of remote timing synchrony. We demonstrate detection and accurate localization of polarization perturbation utilizing telecom transceivers.
