Reduced Single-Coating Diameter Fiber

Abstract

We report the fabrication of a colored 170µm single-coating diameter fiber with standard 125µm cladding diameter. This fiber shows good optical properties, including micro-bending sensitivity, and improved mechanical properties compared to reduced dual-coating diameter fibers.
