Nonlinear Noise Measurement for Optical Communication

Abstract

Two equivalent nonlinear noise measurement methods are evaluated. The orthogonal component is correct, whereas the noise-to-power ratio measured by notch process is usually not. The notch process usually changes the nonlinear behavior no matter how narrow the bandwidth is.
