Abstract
Non-mechanical laser beam steering was alsways pursued to enable fast, efficent and reliable laser beam steering. In this paper, research on the LC optical phased array was presented. Associated steering effeciency and scanning range was improved by optimziing the control method and cascading an amplifier. 2-D and up to 14° range laser beam steering was achieved based on this device. The effect of laser beam steering by an optical phased array on the laser communication system was also studied by experimental method.
