Abstract
We have studied the operating characteristics of a Lithium Triborate OPO pumped by frequency doubled compressed pulses [1] from a Coherent Antares mode-locked Nd:YLF laser. This pump source provides high output power (7kW peak power in 2ps duration) allowing the OPO to be driven further above threshold (x 5-6) than OPOs using lower power pumping systems such as the additive pulse mode-locked lasers as described in [2,3].
