S. R. Seshadri JOSA Publications Grants

A generous member, S. R. Seshadri, established a fund for The Optical Society to provide assistance with mandatory publication charges to qualified JOSA A or JOSA B authors. The grants may be applied to mandatory overlength page charges and color charges. Applications will be considered by the JOSA A and JOSA B Editors on a first-come, first-served basis until the annual allotment is depleted. Individuals will be considered for a grant if they meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • A first-time author
  • A senior retiree
  • A scientist working in a developing country

How to Apply for an S. R. Seshadri JOSA Publications Grant

  3. Submit the online application or send the application to ataylor@osa.org after completing electronic submission of your manuscript.

The JOSA A and JOSA B editors will choose recipients of the grants. The individual(s) will be informed of the amount awarded prior to final acceptance, and that amount will be deducted from their publication charges.
