New Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editor for Photonics Research
Photonics Research welcomes new Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Lan Yang, and new Deputy Editor, Prof. Cun-Zheng Ning. Prof. Yang is the Edwin H. and Florence G. Skinner Professor in The Preston M. Green Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis (USA), where she also runs the Laboratory of Micro/Nano Photonics Research Group in the McKelvey School of Engineering. She was previously an Associate Editor for Optics Express. Prof. Yang is a Fellow of The Optical Society and a Senior Member of IEEE. Her research interests include fabrication, characterization and fundamental understanding of advanced nano/micro photonic devices with outstanding optical properties or novel features for unconventional control of light flow. She states, "It will be my honor to have the opportunity to lead and contribute to the growth of Photonics Research as our field continues its transformative development."
Prof. Ning is a professor of Electronic Engineering at Tsinghua University (China) and is also affiliated with Arizona State University (USA) as a professor of Electrical Engineering. Prof. Ning is a Fellow of The Optical Society, IEEE, and the Electromagnetic Academy. He has served on the Board of Editors for the Springer Series in Nano Science and Technology as well as the Springer Lecture Series in Electrical Engineering. Prof. Ning as also served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics. His current research activities include work in the area of semiconductor optoelectronics, nanowire based photonics, and surface-plasmonic active devices such as plasmonic nanolasers. His past research interests have included laser physics and quantum optics, laser dynamics and optical instabilities, self-organizations, stochastic resonances, and geometric phases in dissipative systems.
