To meet our overarching goal of serving both the optics and materials communities, the OMEx editorial board continuously monitors and adjusts the Journal’s topical coverage, both expanding existing areas and introducing emerging topics. The fantastic Associate Editors go above and beyond the scope of their roles and work tirelessly, not only to ensure that manuscripts are processed and reviewed smoothly, but also to define the critical areas and directions for the journal.
In this Editorial, I am happy to recognize one of our most outstanding Associate Editors, Dr. Stavroula Foteinopoulou, by announcing her appointment as Feature Editor. In this newly created role, Dr. Foteinopoulou will oversee and coordinate activities related to the recruitment of invited papers and our new article type, Opinion, as well as develop feature issues and participate in other special initiatives. With the benefit of Dr. Foteinopoulou’s experience and insight, I look forward to publishing valuable invited papers and feature issues that span both well-established and hot, emerging fields and help to enhance the Journal’s coverage for the benefit of the community. Welcome to the new role, Stavroula!
