Abstract

We report experimental development of a single-mode optical fiber optimized for a wavelength band of 400nmto700nm, which showed negligible bending loss of 0.09dB/loop at 400nm and 0.23dB/loop at 633nm for a loop diameter of 10mm.

Longitudinal and transverse offset loss between the commercial single-mode fiber and the DT-BIF at 633 nm . The longitudinal offset attenuation was measured relative to the transmission when both fibers were fused. For the transverse offset attenuation, two fibers were kept apart at a distance of 5 μ m .
