Abstract

Phase-sensitive coherence-domain reflectometry is shown to be suited for testing laser diodes with respect to weakly reflecting irregularities inside the cavity, distributed scatterers, group indices, dispersion, and gain properties, the latter both spatially and spectrally resolved.
