Optimization of supercontinuum generation in photonic crystal fibers for pulse compression

Abstract

Simulation shows group delay of the supercontinuum is sensitive to input power fluctuations, which are amplified and translated into fluctuations and time shift of the compressed pulses. We find an optimum fiber length for compression.
