Abstract

We discuss a new interferometric technique for rapid measurement of refractive indices of glasses, specifically experimental glasses for graded-index optics. We have developed and validated the theory underlying the technique. We show that the proposed rapid technique has an accuracy of ${{10}^{- 4}}$ or better.
