Abstract

The effect of γ-irradiation on a polymer composite material based on low-molecular-weight polydiene-epoxy-ether-urethane and divinyl synthetic rubbers is investigated. Irradiation doses of 5 and 10 Mrad are shown to have almost no effect on the material, as evidenced by the characteristic spectral bands in the infrared region. Based on experimental data, a significant change is observed at an irradiation dose of 15 Mrad that induces a partial disruption of the −CH2CH2− bonds and an increase in the number of N–H, –C=, C–, and C–O–C bonds. The irradiation dose of 15 Mrad is assumed to cause a partial disruption of some bonds and the formation of others, which affects the mechanical properties of this polymer composite material.
