Abstract

In order to arrange the radiation of a semiconductor laser into parallel circular beams, an optical system consisting of an objective and an anamorphic system of right-angle prisms is proposed. Analytical relationships that determine the design parameters of the system are provided. The use of the proposed system in a laser rangefinder significantly reduces the dimensions of the instrument and increases the maximum measured distance owing to the summation of the power of the radiation from several lasers.
