Abstract

In this paper, we perform an analysis of the locations of lenses in mounts when using various well-known assembly techniques. The analysis revealed that there is an interactive relationship between the machine accuracy parameters and the design and process solutions used for the lenses and lens mount. A technique is described for automated centering of lenses as they are glued into a mount, and several mount designs developed for improved lens centering accuracy are described.
