Abstract

This paper discusses interference coatings for forming a wave front in Fabry–Perot interferometers or laser cavities. The main requirement imposed on such coatings is that the reflectance (transmittance) must remain constant as the thickness of one or several of its layers varies over the surface of the optical element.
