Abstract

Computer modelling has been used to estimate the contribution of each of the excitation-energy-loss channels in an erbium active medium in inverse-energy-accumulation and free-lasing regimes. Good agreement with the experimental data is obtained in the results of a calculation of the heat dissipation.
