Abstract

Based on a comparative analysis of the formulas of the stochastic and dynamic theories for a homogeneous optical band of an impurity center, the interactions of the impurity center with the tunnel excitations that exist in glasses and polymers are investigated. It is shown that the formulas of the dynamic theory make it possible to explain the contribution to the spectral diffusion effect from separate groups of two-level systems and to judge the character of the interaction of the impurity center with the tunnel excitations in glasses and polymers.
