Abstract

This paper shows that not only aplanatic but also anastigmatic (plananastigmatic) correction of the aberrations can be achieved in the image formed by an optical system that consists of two reflecting surfaces of spherical shape, with an afocal aberration compensator made from two thin lenses located in parallel pencils of rays in front of the mirror system.
