Abstract

This paper discusses how nonlinear processing of digital specklegrams affects the accuracy with which the displacement of speckle structures is determined by the method of approximating the correlation coefficient. It is shown that nonlinear processing can increase the accuracy with which displacements are determined. The conditions for using such a process are analyzed.
