Abstract

This paper briefly explains widely used methods of coding rods for electronic leveling. A bar-coding method is proposed based on the use of cyclic codes. Three versions of a bar-code sequence are presented, two of which are based on the Reed-Solomon code and one on a binary cyclic code. Segments of the bar codes thus developed for rods are displayed.
