Abstract

This paper presents the results of numerical modelling of the diffraction of a two-dimensional TE-polarized terahertz wave that contains only one complete vibration of the field at a slit whose size equals ten central wavelengths of the radiation. It is shown that, when such broad-band terahertz radiation undergoes diffraction, its spectrum can exhibit modulation whose shape is close to that observed when the radiation passes through a resonance-absorbing medium.
