Abstract

A theoretical model is presented for the generation of a quasi-constant current accompanying the optical breakdown of air by femtosecond laser pulses containing the second harmonic, along with the fundamental. Analytical estimates of the current are made. Results of the modelling of the emission of terahertz pulses from a plasma column are presented.
