Abstract

To eliminate the disadvantages of directly determining the point-spread function by using a CCD camera, computer isophotometric methods have been developed for experimentally analyzing the circle of confusion formed when a fabricated optical system operates. These methods make it possible to increase the irradiance-recording range in the optical image of a test object to 10<sup>3</sup>-10<sup>5</sup> while eliminating errors from the nonlinearity of the photoresponse of the CCD array.
