Abstract

This article describes the formation of protective nanosize (10-15nm thick) Y2O3 coatings on the surface of crystal phosphors, using aqueous and water-alcohol solutions of yttrium nitrate. The influence of the concentration and pH of the solutions on the structure of the coatings and the luminescence properties of the crystal phosphors is studied.
