Abstract

This paper discusses the possibility of replacing a planoid mirror corrector having elliptical retouching in mirror objectives by an axisymmetric corrector with the minimum possible slope angles of the mirror planoid. The limiting relative apertures of mirror-Schmidt and mirror-Wright optical systems with a centrosymmetric mirror corrector are determined, based on an analysis of the wave-front errors caused by the deviation of the surface of the corrector under consideration from a corrector with elliptical retouching. Point diagrams are presented for mirror-Schmidt and mirror-Wright objectives with relative apertures close to the limiting value. Lightproofing systems are proposed for the mirror-Schmidt and mirror-Wright systems. The design characteristics are presented for an experimental sample of an objective using a mirror-Wright layout created by the author.
