Abstract

This paper discusses the possibilities of evaluating the status of the plant cover from multizonal space images in the zone of influence of a large natural-technogenic complex, using as an example the Monchegorsk copper-nickel plant. Indices are proposed that adequately describe the status of the vegetation, operating in three spectral channels corresponding to the red and IR regions of the spectrum. A method is developed for estimating the threshold values of toxic loadings on the vegetation in units of normalized vegetation indices by constructing and analyzing the response functions.
