Abstract

The cross section of electromagnetic-radiation absorption by an inhomogeneous cylindrical particle is computed. The general case is considered, in which the ratio of the radius of the insulating core to the particle radius can take arbitrary values. The conditions of specular-diffuse reflection of electrons from the inner and outer surfaces of the metallic layer of the particle are taken as boundary conditions of the problem. The limiting cases are considered, and the results are discussed.
