Abstract

This paper gives an analysis of the surface of off-axis segments of cylindrical elements with elliptical and parabolic profiles and provides a basis for the choice of a blank with minimum volume of the allowance. The process of shaping and finishing the surfaces is described, and the features of interference process control are demonstrated. The parameters of the fabricated surfaces are presented. © 2004 Optical Society of America
