Abstract

This paper discusses the possibility of correcting the aberrations of concave holographic gratings recorded by means of supplementary concave mirrors. It is shown that, to compensate 1st-3rd-order aberrations, it is adequate to use a single supplementary cylindrical mirror whose axis lies in the dispersion plane of the grating. An example is given of calculating the optimum parameters of the gratings used in a spectrograph.
