Abstract

The measurement of laser beam far-field parameters plays an important role in the accurate assessment of the laser’s transmission effect and the laser system’s overall performance. A simpler and more convenient detection method for an image fusion algorithm of saturated and unsaturated double frames is proposed, based on the technology of image fusion, to measure the laser beam far-field angle. After being attenuated by the attenuating plate, the pulsed laser is focused by the objective lens to form a spot image on the charge-coupled device image plane. The spot size that has been attenuated by the attenuator can be calculated and analyzed by the mathematical modeling software MATLAB, and then the far-field divergence angle value is calculated. The experimental device and the working principle are introduced in detail, theoretical analysis of the computer data processing method is given, and the data processing results are shown in the end. Experimental results indicate that the amount of computation compared with the previous image fusion algorithm is smaller, this method can be used to measure the laser beam far-field divergence angle, the calculation speed is fast, and the measurement accuracy can be up to 2%.
