Abstract

This paper presents data concerning the development of a single-mode microstructured lightguide with a core diameter of 35 μm and outer diameter of 295 μm in a metallic coating formed on the lightguide by freezing. The thermophysical aspects of depositing a metallic coating on a lightguide that contains internal cavities are analyzed. It is shown that the effect of the metallic coating can involve the narrowing of the working spectral range of the lightguide under investigation by about 100 nm.
