Abstract
This paper describes the design of a metal–dielectric structure intended to be used as a thermometric sensor. As the temperature varies, the fringes in the light reflected from a three-mirror interferometer become asymmetric. The asymmetry has different signs, depending on whether the object is being heated or cooled.
