Abstract

This paper presents the characteristics of a solid-state laser with semiconductor pumping and Q switching of the cavity with an electrooptic shutter. The laser emits bursts of 5-ns pulses with energy up to 70mJ, at a pulse-repetition rate in the burst of up to 1kHz, and with a programmable sequence of pulses and bursts.
