Abstract
This paper theoretically discusses and compares the spectral distributions of the diffraction efficiency of single- and double-layer relief-phase diffraction microstructures. It is shown that the energy spectral selectivity of sawtooth microstructures intended for the formation of two equal-intensity diffraction orders (one of the first orders and the zeroth order) can be substantially reduced by using a second layer.
