Generation of images in a cavity by spatial gain modulation

Abstract

To obtain images, pump radiation is projected onto a thin layer of laser medium through a spatial light modulator. The lasing conditions for such a laser are analyzed, and it is shown that it is possible to generate gray-scale images.
