Abstract

Intracavity absorption spectroscopy was employed to obtain the b 1Σg+(υ = 2) ← X 3Σg(υ = 0), magnetic-dipole spectrum of the isotopic 18O2 molecule. Values for the rotational constants B2 and D2 (1.2067 ± 0.0005 cm−1 and 4.7 ± 0.5 × 10−6 cm−1, respectively) were deduced subsequently from 50 of the ΔN = −1 transitions.
