Abstract

Quantum correlation between signal and idler beams at 0.8 and 1.5μm was experimentally observed by using an above-threshold optical parametric oscillator based on a periodically poled KTiOPO4 crystal. The measured quantum noise reduction in the intensity difference of the twin beams was 2.5 dB. The system presented here is of interest for long-distance quantum information processing.
