Abstract

By generalizing the analytic solutions from the theory of the nonparaxial evolution, we investigate analytically and numerically the properties of the nonparaxial evolution of the Airy–Gaussian vortex (AiGV) beam in uniaxial crystal. For checking the validity of nonparaxial approximate expressions, we give the results of numerical simulating the full nonparaxial solution and compare with our analytic results. In addition, we also study the influence of the different distribution factor χ0. We physically attribute these features to the combined contribution of the orbital current and the spin current. Finally, we also analyze the physical mechanism underlying the nonparaxial evolution of the AiGV beam.
