Abstract
I propose a new contouring method that is based on sending picosecond pulses toward a test object in such a sequence that if the object has the wanted shape all the scattered light arrives simultaneously at a detector. The result is that the shortness of the detected pulse is a measure of the likeness between a holographically recorded master object and the test object.
