Abstract

The general formula for Fraunhofer diffraction derived by Komrska [ J. Opt. Soc. Am. 72, 1382 ( 1982)] is shown to be consistent with the result obtained by the Maggi–Rubinowicz transformation. Alternative expressions in a simplified form are also given.
