Abstract

The solution to rather general propagation and/or scattering nonlinear problems is provided in terms of a Volterra series, the functional analog of the Taylor series in the realm of functionals. Forced and initial-value problems are considered, together with analytical continuation and diagrammatic representations. The Volterra series has been combined with renormalization techniques and symbolic programming to provide a powerful and convenient method for nonlinear problems analysis. A number of examples are presented to illustrate the flexibility of the combined technique.
