Autoionizing resonances in the photoionization of long-lived excited xenon atoms

Abstract

Photoionization from the metastable level 6s00 and the manifold of 5d states in xenon has been studied by using a crossed-laser fast-atom-beam method. Autoionizing features have been analyzed to provide accurate field-free level positions, lifetimes, and line-shape parameters.
