Abstract

SYNOPSIS

The development of the potentiometer is briefly described, with special emphasis on the methods of checking the current against the standard cell and of changing the range.

Two designs for double range potentiometers are outlined which permit checking the current while operating on either range and in which the effect of variable factor plug contact resistance is completely eliminated.
