Abstract

The phase screen model of Lee and Harp for computing the various observables associated with the propagation of optical beams through weak, locally stationary turbulence is generalized to arbitrary irradiance fields. We derive expressions for the correlation and structure functions of log amplitude and phase that involve only the vacuum propagated field and the spatial spectral density of the turbulence.
